I've been intending to do a painting of this street corner in Arles for ages. Each time I go to the Roman Arena there, and look down onto the town and rooftops, this interesting little corner opposite, crammed with the green and red umbrellas, Pizzeria signs, plants, and tableclothes for sale, 'jumps out' at me! I spent a week in Arles a few years ago, and suspect I may have photographed nearly every corner, door and shutter in this old Roman town. I'm always happy to go back there though.

It's very beautiful, Jackie! I'm thinking to start painting again, not that I have done many before... I enjoy it though and I've got some ideas in my head...:) You enspire me also!

Many thanks Eva - sorry, we've been travelling and I've only just seen your kind comments. I hope you do manage to start some painting - its great fun and very absorbing - let me know if you do! We were in Crete for a while and I will put some of mu sketches from there online soon hopefully. Jackie
