Saignon is a lovely hilltop village in the Luberon area of Provence, and although I've been there at various times, I've never actually been to the village when the lavender has been flowering! However, this painting just wouldn't have been complete without it. Fields of lavender are such a evocative and memorable part of a French summer, and I'm determined to conquer a nice loose way of painting them!
